State Administrator of Elections must distribute corrective information upon receiving credible reports of election misinformation or disinformation, and may seek injunctions for removal from online platforms and issue subpoenas for related records

State Board of Elections may file civil actions against persons, campaigns, or PACs that create, use, or disseminate election misinformation or disinformation, seeking damages, court costs, and attorney's fees for costs incurred in correcting false information

Prohibits knowingly or recklessly creating, using, or disseminating deepfakes to influence voter decisions, misrepresent election-related facts, or affect ballot petition signatures

Violations of deepfake provisions constitute a misdemeanor punishable by up to $5,000 fine, up to 5 years imprisonment, or both

Exemptions apply to satire/parody, broadcasters required by federal law to air candidate ads, and news organizations that clearly disclose the deceptive nature of the media
