Maryland Department of Transportation must conduct a study on speed limit changes at locations where state highways connect to Interstate 495

Study must analyze 5 years of data on traffic congestion, speeding tickets, accidents, and other hazards at I-495 connection points

Study must evaluate the feasibility of requiring speed limits to deviate by only 5 miles per hour at highway connections to I-495 and recommend implementation measures if feasible

Department must consult with local officials and traffic safety stakeholders and submit findings to the Governor and General Assembly by December 31, 2026

Act takes effect July 1, 2026 and automatically expires on June 30, 2027
