Exempts active law enforcement officers from Maryland's 7-day waiting period for purchasing, renting, or transferring regulated firearms

Exempts retired law enforcement officers who left their agency in good standing from the 7-day waiting period requirement

Exempts individuals who hold a valid Maryland permit to wear, carry, or transport a handgun from the waiting period

Applies to both licensee sales and secondary (private) sales of regulated firearms

Takes effect October 1, 2026
