Increases the maximum number of dealer licenses for manufacturers or distributors that sell only electric or nonfossil-fuel burning vehicles from four to five licenses statewide

The fifth additional license may only be issued for the operation of a dealership located in the City of Bowie

Applies to manufacturers/distributors that have no existing franchise dealers in Maryland and do not have controlling interests in other licensed manufacturers under this provision

Effective date: October 1, 2026
