Nursing homes and assisted living programs must notify current and prospective residents in writing if they do not maintain professional liability insurance or if coverage has lapsed and not been renewed

Nurse midwives and licensed certified midwives must provide written notification to patients if they lack professional liability insurance, including as part of each informed consent before procedures

Facilities and midwives without coverage must post visible notices in conspicuous locations informing residents, guests, or patients of the lack of insurance

Notifications must be signed by the recipient and retained in facility or patient records; existing residents must be notified within 30 days if coverage lapses
