Persons who donate or dispense pet items in good faith to nonprofit organizations or government units are immune from civil liability for acts or omissions affecting the nature, age, condition, or packaging of donated items

Immunity does not apply if the act or omission amounts to gross negligence or willful and wanton misconduct

"Pet item" includes any apparently fit tangible pet supply meeting federal, state, and local quality and labeling standards, including commercial feed for dogs, cats, and other domesticated animals

The State Department of Agriculture may inspect donated commercial feed for wholesomeness and establish procedures for handling donated commercial feed
