Baltimore County Board of Education elected members will transition from using County Council districts to seven dedicated school board districts beginning with the 2034 general election

School board districts must be reapportioned after each decennial census starting with the 2030 U.S. Census, with districts required to be substantially equal in population

The chair of the Baltimore County delegation to the General Assembly is responsible for introducing redistricting legislation after each decennial census

Until the 2034 election, elected members continue to represent the seven councilmanic districts as they existed on October 1, 2024

Designated as an emergency bill requiring three-fifths approval in both legislative chambers to take effect immediately upon enactment
