Extends the duration of temporary protective orders from 7 days to 14 days after service of the order

Extends the deadline for final protective order hearings from 7 days to 14 days after service of the temporary order on the respondent

Authorizes courts to order respondents to pay abuse victims for losses and expenses including medical/dental/mental health treatment, property repair or replacement, food, shelter, relocation, transportation, filing fees, court costs, and attorney's fees

Preserves the petitioner's right to bring subsequent claims for additional losses or expenses not awarded in the final protective order

Takes effect October 1, 2026
