Division of Health Care Financing and Medicaid must study the impact of requiring Maryland Medicaid to reimburse room and board services provided by hospice houses

Study must quantify overall Medicaid savings per death resulting from hospice care utilization

Study must examine how room and board reimbursement would affect hospice readmission rates, length of stay, hospital deaths, and emergency department utilization

Maryland Department of Health must report findings to the Senate Finance Committee and House Health Committee by September 30, 2026

Act takes effect July 1, 2026
