Public and nonpublic primary and secondary schools must adopt written policies protecting student record privacy, including procedures for parental inspection of records and requirements for written consent before disclosing personal identifying information

Schools must maintain written records of all requests for and disclosures of student information, documenting the student's name, reviewer's name, date, and purpose of each review

For students 18 years or older, privacy rights and consent requirements transfer from parents/guardians to the student

Nonpublic prekindergarten programs and nonpublic schools must report incidents of alleged discrimination (based on race, ethnicity, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability) to the State Department of Education annually by September 1, beginning in 2027

The Department must compile discrimination reports and submit findings to the Governor and General Assembly by December 31 each year, excluding any personal identifying information
