Nursing homes must spend at least 75% of their total nursing and residential care revenue on direct care wages and benefits for nursing, dietary, restorative therapy, and social worker staff

Annual cost reports required to be submitted to the Maryland Department of Health by September 1 each year, beginning in 2027, including documentation of wage disbursement

Cost reports must be signed by an authorized nursing home representative under penalty of perjury

The Department may impose corrective plans or suspend/terminate nursing homes from the Maryland Medical Assistance Program for failing to submit reports, submitting inaccurate reports, or failing to pay required wages
