Adds special police officers for the Maryland Judiciary (commissioned under Title 3, Subtitle 3 of the Public Safety Article) to the definition of "law enforcement officer" in Section 2-608 of the Courts and Judicial Proceedings Article.

Extends existing procedural protections for charging law enforcement officers to these Maryland Judiciary special police officers, requiring applications for statements of charges to be forwarded to the State's Attorney for investigation and recommendation before charges can be filed.

Applies specifically to offenses allegedly committed in the course of executing official duties.

Takes effect October 1, 2026.
