Establishes a Task Force on Not-for-Profit Funeral Establishments to study the feasibility and necessity of allowing not-for-profit funeral homes in Maryland

Task Force membership includes 9 members: one state senator, one delegate, representatives from the Funeral Consumers Alliance and Maryland State Funeral Directors Association, plus five funeral establishment representatives serving African American, Catholic, Jewish, Muslim, and Protestant communities

Task Force must analyze current funeral direction licensing data, laws in other jurisdictions allowing not-for-profit funeral services, and the potential impact of such entities in Maryland

Report with findings and recommendations due to the Governor and General Assembly by December 1, 2026

Act takes effect October 1, 2026 and automatically sunsets on September 30, 2027
