School resource officers are prohibited from engaging in sexual acts, sexual contact, or vaginal intercourse with any student enrolled in a school where they are assigned

Violation constitutes a misdemeanor punishable by up to 3 years imprisonment, a fine up to $3,000, or both

Expands existing law that already prohibits law enforcement officers from sexual activity with victims, witnesses, suspects in their investigations, persons requesting assistance, and persons in their custody

Effective date: July 1, 2026
