Authorizes merchants in Maryland to round cash transaction prices to the nearest 5 cents (prices ending in 1, 2, 6, or 7 cents round down; prices ending in 3, 4, 8, or 9 cents round up) or round the change due to customers in the same manner.

Permits merchants to round prices under 5 cents up to 5 cents for cash transactions.

Applies to in-person, telephone, mail, and internet transactions paid with cash (defined as U.S. coins and currency, excluding gift cards).

Does not apply to exact change transactions and prohibits rounding that alters the calculation of applicable taxes or fees.

Designated as an emergency bill taking effect immediately upon enactment; supersedes any conflicting local regulations, rules, or ordinances.
