Maryland Department of Health must reimburse applied behavior analysis (ABA) services provided by registered behavior technicians to Medicaid recipients with autism spectrum disorder

Registered behavior technicians must work under supervision of a licensed psychologist, board certified behavior analyst-doctoral, or board certified behavior analyst

The Department cannot require certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board as a condition of reimbursement initially, but may require technicians to obtain certification within 150 days of beginning to provide services

The Department must adopt regulations to implement these requirements

Effective date: October 1, 2026, applying prospectively only
