Establishes a new occupational disease presumption for hypertension specifically for paid firefighters, fire fighting instructors, rescue squad members, advanced life support unit members, and sworn members of the Office of the State Fire Marshal employed by state or local government entities

Qualifying individuals must meet four criteria: diagnosis by an authorized provider, prescription medication for hypertension for at least 90 consecutive days, at least 2 years of cumulative service in Maryland, and current employment in a covered position at the time of claim

Individuals who receive workers' compensation under this new hypertension presumption are prohibited from also receiving disability retirement benefits based on the same condition

Existing presumptions for heart disease, hypertension, and lung disease for both paid and volunteer firefighters and emergency personnel remain in place, with separate claim applications required for heart or lung disease
