FTD is a terminal, incurable neurodegenerative disease affecting the frontal and temporal lobes, causing impairments to speech, personality, behavior, and motor skills

Average diagnosis takes 3.6 years with life expectancy of 7 to 13 years after symptom onset; most commonly affects people ages 45-64 and is the leading form of dementia for those under 60

Annual care costs for FTD are approximately double those of Alzheimer's disease

Copies of the resolution will be forwarded to the Governor, Senate President, and House Speaker
