Each Class M license must be held by the local government entity and assigned to only one individual employee, though there is no limit on the number of Class M licenses a municipality can obtain

Individuals operating vehicles under a Class M license must pass all required written and road safety tests

Designated as emergency legislation to take effect immediately upon approval, bypassing the standard 90-day waiting period to address winter road maintenance needs during the current season
