Requires applicants for municipal general assistance to prove they have been physically present in Maine for at least 180 days before applying

Proof of residency must include the applicant's name and physical residential address; post office boxes and mail drop addresses are not acceptable

Acceptable documentation includes tax returns, W-2 forms, paycheck stubs, utility bills, utility service applications, contracts, or government-issued documents

Repeals existing section 22 MRSA §4307, sub-§3 and replaces it with new residency requirement provisions
