Prohibits the knowing manufacture, import, purchase, possession, sale, or transfer of large-capacity ammunition feeding devices, defined as magazines or similar devices holding more than 10 rounds of ammunition

Violations constitute a Class D crime under Maine criminal law

Current owners have 180 days from the effective date to permanently modify devices to hold 10 rounds or fewer, surrender them to law enforcement for destruction, or sell/transfer them to a federally licensed dealer outside Maine

Exempts active duty military and National Guard members authorized to possess such devices, as well as federal and state law enforcement officers whether on or off duty

Exempts devices manufactured for curio, relic, or antique firearms, and federally licensed dealers temporarily transporting devices through the state for out-of-state sale
