Changes the official professional title from "physician assistant" to "physician associate" throughout Maine statutes, while retaining the abbreviation "P.A."

Currently licensed physician assistants may continue using either title during their current license term, but must adopt "physician associate" upon license renewal.

Does not expand or alter the scope of practice for these medical professionals; all existing rights, privileges, and practice requirements remain unchanged.

Licensure requirements remain the same: completion of an accredited educational program, passing the national certifying examination, demonstrating clinical competency, application fee up to $300, and biennial renewal fee up to $250.

Unauthorized use of the "physician associate" title or "P.A." abbreviation remains a Class E crime.
