Licensed social workers seeking the alternative pathway must complete a jurisprudence exam, 144 hours of consultation concurrent with 4,800 hours of social work employment over at least 3 years, and demonstrate competence in 9 Council on Social Work Education competencies through a graduate-level internship

Licensed master social workers using the alternative pathway must complete a jurisprudence exam and demonstrate competence through a master's-level internship

Licensed clinical social workers using the alternative pathway must provide documentation of clinical supervision with 144 hours of consultation concurrent with 4,800 hours of employment over at least 3 years, plus 3 letters of recommendation from licensed clinical social workers

Applies to four license levels: licensed social worker, licensed master social worker, licensed master social worker (conditional clinical), and licensed clinical social worker
