Removes the previous requirement that the State Auditor be a certified public accountant or have 6+ years of professional accounting/auditing experience with supervisory capacity

Establishes new qualification requirements allowing candidates who hold certification in accounting, auditing, or financial analysis, or a degree in business or finance from an accredited institution

Extends the deadline for newly elected State Auditors to obtain CPA, certified information systems auditor, or certified internal auditor certification from 9 months to 2 years after being sworn in

Changes the State Auditor's title from "head" to "chief administrator" of the Office of the State Auditor

Removes the certification requirement for elected State Auditors while maintaining it for permanently employed supervisory positions (deputy auditor, director of audits, assistant director of audits)
