Prohibits landlords and other persons responsible for setting rent from using algorithmic devices or artificial intelligence to determine rent amounts for residential rental properties, including rent changes at lease renewal

Defines "algorithmic device" as a device using algorithms to calculate data, including local or statewide rent data, to advise landlords on potential rent amounts to charge tenants

Defines "artificial intelligence" as an engineered or machine-based system with varying autonomy that can infer from inputs how to generate outputs influencing physical or virtual environments

Violations are classified as unfair trade practices under Maine Title 5, chapter 10

Adds new section §6030-K to Title 14 of Maine Revised Statutes
