Establishes the Maine Charter School Commission as a public body corporate and politic and an incorporated public instrumentality of the State, with its powers designated as essential government functions

Commission consists of 7 members: 3 appointed by the state board for 3-year terms and 4 appointed by the Governor (subject to Senate confirmation) for 4-year terms, with 4 members constituting a quorum

Members limited to 3 consecutive terms and may receive legislative per diem plus expense reimbursement

Commission serves as the sole authorizer in Maine for virtual public charter schools and must appear annually before the Legislature's education committee in January

Became law without the Governor's signature on June 15, 2025
