Trucks and truck tractors registered for operation exceeding 10,000 pounds gross vehicle weight must carry 3 flares and 3 reflective triangles, replacing the current requirement for 2 red flags, 3 flares, and 3 red lanterns or red emergency reflectors

Removes the requirement for red flags to be used during daytime hours when a truck is disabled on a public way

Requires disabled trucks to place emergency signals (flares or reflective triangles) at three locations: 100 feet in front, 100 feet behind, and within 10 feet of the vehicle on the traffic side

Eliminates references to lanterns and generic "emergency reflectors" throughout Maine law, standardizing on reflective triangles to align with federal motor carrier regulations
