Clarifies that fuel gas detector requirements for multifamily buildings apply to those with 3 or more dwelling units and apartments as defined in the National Fire Protection Association Life Safety Code

Expands lodging requirements to include lodging houses, rooming houses, and dormitories (in addition to existing hotels, motels, and inns)

Delays the compliance deadline for business, mercantile, and assembly occupancies from January 1, 2026 to January 1, 2027

Adds new fuel gas detector requirements beginning January 1, 2028 for day care facilities, educational occupancies, health care facilities, ambulatory health care occupancies, residential board and care facilities, and detention/correctional facilities

Authorizes enforcement by the Office of State Fire Marshal, state/county/municipal law enforcement officers, municipal code enforcement officers, and state/county/municipal fire inspectors
