Expands Maine's existing assault statute (17-A MRSA §752-F) beyond emergency room workers to cover all health care workers employed or contracted by state-licensed health care entities

Removes the limitation requiring assaults to occur in a hospital's designated emergency room; now applies to assaults occurring during the course of employment as a health care worker

Maintains the offense classification as a Class C crime for intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly causing bodily injury to covered health care workers

Amends legislation originally enacted in 2023 (PL 2023, c. 455, §2) that created protections specifically for emergency room workers
