Director of the Office of Cannabis Policy would be appointed by the Governor subject to review by the joint standing committee on cannabis matters and confirmation by the Legislature

Amends existing statute (Title 28-B, section 104-B) to add legislative oversight to what is currently a gubernatorial appointment without confirmation

Governor must appoint the Director within 60 days after the effective date of the Act

Director retains authority to employ personnel necessary to implement and enforce cannabis regulations under both adult-use and medical cannabis laws
