Maximum wage coverage from the Maine Wage Assurance Fund increases from 2 weeks to 4 weeks of unpaid wages for former employees

Fund now covers liquidated damages equal to the unpaid wages, in addition to the wages themselves

Eligibility limited to cases where the employer has terminated business with no assets to pay wages, or has filed for federal bankruptcy

Officers, directors, partners, and sole proprietors are excluded from receiving payments as employees

Fund remains capped at $200,000 as a nonlapsing, revolving fund administered by the Bureau of Labor Standards
