Doubles the reimbursement rates that hiring governmental entities must pay when recruiting law enforcement officers trained at another entity's expense within 5 years of graduation from the Maine Criminal Justice Academy or Indian police academy

Year 1 after graduation: reimbursement increases from 100% to 200% of training costs

Year 2: increases from 80% to 160%; Year 3: increases from 60% to 120%; Year 4: increases from 40% to 80%; Year 5: increases from 20% to 40%

No reimbursement required if the officer graduated more than 5 years before being hired by another governmental entity

Reimbursement obligations follow the officer through subsequent hires, with each new employer liable to the immediately preceding employer based on the same formula
