Judicial officer appointment terms begin on the date the officer is sworn into office, rather than the date of commission or appointment

Judicial officers are exempted from the 30-day qualification requirement that applies to other public officers under Title 5, section 6

Other public officers must still qualify within 30 days of being commissioned and file certification with the Secretary of State within 45 days or face suspension
