Requires waste components from decommissioned solar energy developments to be recycled or disposed of within 90 days of physical removal from the site

Recyclable materials, including solar panels, must be sent to authorized recycling facilities; non-recyclable components must go to authorized disposal facilities

Amends existing Maine law (35-A MRSA §3491) that already requires proper waste management during solar decommissioning by adding the 90-day timeframe

Designated as emergency legislation, taking effect immediately upon approval rather than the standard 90 days after legislative adjournment

Justified by the recent proliferation of solar energy developments in Maine and the need for timely end-of-life waste management
