Law enforcement agencies may request hospital access to notify patients that they are classified as a "restricted person" under Title 34-B, section 3862-A (related to firearm restrictions)

Hospitals must provide law enforcement an opportunity to deliver this notification at a time the hospital determines is clinically appropriate based on the patient's medical condition

Hospitals may disclose a person's patient status to facilitate this notification without patient consent and regardless of confidentiality restrictions under hospital policy
