All 9-1-1 call centers in Michigan must submit a consolidation plan to the commission no later than 24 months after the bill's effective date.

Consolidated call centers must be designed to serve 100,000 people according to the latest federal decennial census.

Consolidated call centers must contain equipment that accepts calls, text messages, and other communications from all wireless communication devices.

The commission has 6 months to review and approve or disapprove each consolidation plan; plans are considered approved if the commission does not act within 6 months.

If a consolidation plan is disapproved, the commission must adjust the plan to ensure compliance with the consolidation requirements.
