Applies to counties with populations greater than 35,000 that have adopted a charter providing for a county retirement system.

Retirees receiving retirement benefits who are employed by the county on or after July 1, 2010 must forfeit their retirement benefit payments during any period of county employment.

County retirement systems must cease benefit payments to affected retirees and reinstate payments without recalculation when county employment ends.

Exempts retirees employed by the county on June 30, 2010 from this requirement as long as they remain in the same position held on that date.

Defines "employed by the county" to include direct county employment, independent contractor work for the county, or indirect employment through third-party contractual arrangements with the county.
