MI HB6012

Amends the Michigan Legislative Retirement System Act to modify employer contributions to the Tier 2 defined contribution plan for qualified participants.

Suspends the employer's additional matching contribution (equal to employee contributions up to 3% of salary) for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2010 only.

Restores the employer matching contribution for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2010 if the qualified participant was originally a Tier 1 member who elected to become a Tier 2 participant.

Maintains the employer's base 4% contribution to Tier 2 accounts and allows employees to contribute up to 3% of salary with employer matching on those voluntary contributions (except during the suspension period noted above).

Takes effect only if HB 6011 or a referenced Senate Bill is enacted into law (tie-barred legislation).
