MI HB6133

Amends the Michigan Code of Criminal Procedure (1927 PA 175, MCL 777.11c) to add sentencing guidelines for specific felonies to Chapter XVII.

Adds sentencing guidelines for fireworks violations: Class H felony for violations causing serious impairment of body function (1-year maximum) and Class E felony for violations causing death (5-year maximum).

Adds sentencing guidelines for fireworks safety fee violations: Class G felony for failure to collect or remit fireworks safety fees on second or subsequent offense (2-year maximum).

Adds sentencing guidelines for various public trust offenses including false statements in veterans benefits applications, civil service violations, county purchasing violations, and housing development act violations.

Bill does not take effect unless Senate Bill No. ____ or House Bill No. 6134 is enacted into law (tie-bar provision).
