Amends Michigan election law (1954 PA 116, MCL 168.302) to change when newly elected school board members take office.

Until December 31, 2009, school board members elected at November elections begin their term on January 1 immediately following the election.

Beginning January 1, 2010, school board members elected at November elections take office on the date of the first school board meeting after the election or January 1, whichever occurs first.

Until December 31, 2010, school board members elected at May elections begin their term on July 1 immediately following the election.

Beginning January 1, 2011, school board members elected at May elections take office on the date of the first school board meeting after the election or July 1, whichever occurs first.
