Amends section 322 of the Michigan Election Law (MCL 168.322) to eliminate the option for cities to hold September primary elections for city offices.

Requires nominating petitions for city office candidates to be filed with the city clerk no later than 4 p.m. on the twelfth Tuesday before the August primary election.

Removes the previous provision that allowed cities to file nominating petitions by the twelfth Tuesday before a September primary election if the city held such an election.

Maintains existing requirements that petitions be signed by qualified and registered electors of the political party residing in the city or ward, as determined under section 544f.

Does not apply to cities whose charters provide alternative nomination methods for public office candidates.
