Amends the Estates and Protected Individuals Code (1998 PA 386) regarding durable powers of attorney under MCL 700.5501

Defines a durable power of attorney as a written power of attorney containing specific language indicating the authority continues despite the principal's subsequent disability, incapacity, or passage of time

Requires durable powers of attorney to contain one of the following phrases: "This power of attorney is not affected by the principal's subsequent disability or incapacity, or by the lapse of time" or "This power of attorney is effective upon the disability or incapacity of the principal," or similar language demonstrating the principal's intent

Establishes execution requirements: durable powers of attorney must be signed by the principal, dated, and signed by 2 witnesses who observe the principal sign the document
