Members contribute 3% of compensation to a public employee retirement health care funding account from July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2013.

Members earning less than $18,000 annually in the initial school fiscal year (July 1, 2010) contribute a reduced rate of 1.5% instead of 3%.

Members hired on or after July 1, 2010 with a starting salary below $18,000 contribute 1.5% during their first fiscal year.

Beginning July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2013, all members with yearly salaries below $18,000 contribute 3% to the health care funding account.

Employers deduct member contributions and remit them as employer contributions to the retirement system in a manner determined by the system.
