Recognizes Elsenheimer's background as a Northern Michigan native with degrees from Michigan State University and Wayne State University Law School, and prior experience as municipal attorney, assistant county prosecutor, and school board member.

Acknowledges his legislative work on early childhood education, tort reform, elections, local government, judiciary, and natural resources, with particular focus on Northern Michigan issues including power plants, Sault Ste. Marie lock, and prescription drug abuse.
