Honors the Honorable James Marleau upon completion of his tenure in the Michigan House of Representatives for setting an example of public service.

Marleau was born in Lake Orion, earned an associate's degree in business and finance from the University of Toledo, and studied further at Central Michigan University before working in the private sector and serving as Orion Township Treasurer for eight years.

First elected to the House of Representatives in 2004, Marleau was reelected in 2006 and 2008, serving on committees addressing health policy, commerce, banking and financial services, tax policy, energy and technology, and insurance.

Marleau held leadership positions including chair of JCAR, vice chair of the Employment Relations, Training, and Safety Committee, and minority vice chair of the Health Policy Committee.

Directs that copies of the resolution be transmitted to Representative Marleau as evidence of the House's esteem.
