Superintendent of Public Instruction must develop or adopt one or more model programs for grade-level-appropriate internet safety instruction by January 1, 2010, in cooperation with the Department of State Police and other state agencies.

Model internet safety programs shall be made available to public and nonpublic schools and to parents once developed or adopted.

Beginning in the 2010-2011 school year, each school district and public school academy must provide grade-level-appropriate internet safety instruction to all pupils.

Internet safety instruction may be based on model programs developed under this section or other sources.
