• Reduces the number of circuit court judges in six Michigan judicial circuits for a temporary six-year period from January 1, 2013 through January 1, 2019.

• Second Judicial Circuit (Berrien County): reduces from 4 judges to 3 judges during the temporary period.

• Third Judicial Circuit (Wayne County): reduces from 61 judges to 60 judges during the temporary period.

• Fourteenth Judicial Circuit (Muskegon County), Twenty-Second Judicial Circuit (Washtenaw County), Thirty-Sixth Judicial Circuit (Van Buren County), and Fifty-Sixth Judicial Circuit (Eaton County): each reduces by one judge during the temporary period.

• The eliminated judgeships must be from judges who are constitutionally ineligible to seek reelection, with all positions automatically restored on January 1, 2019.
