MI SB1368

Amends the Michigan Campaign Finance Act (1976 PA 388) to allow corporations, joint stock companies, domestic dependent sovereigns, and labor organizations to make independent expenditures in unlimited amounts for ballot questions, subject to sections 55a, 55b, 55c, and 55d.

Organizations making independent expenditures for ballot questions are classified as ballot question committees under the campaign finance act.

Maintains the prohibition on contributions and expenditures by these organizations for candidate elections, except as provided in the act's existing exceptions.

Establishes felony penalties for violations: individuals face fines up to $5,000 and up to 3 years imprisonment; non-individuals face fines up to $10,000.

Bill takes effect only if all four companion bills (SB 1361, SB 1362, SB 1363, and SB 1364) are enacted into law.
