Amends Section 179 of the Michigan Military Act to clarify immunity protections for members of the organized militia during active service, active state service, or U.S. service.

Grants militia members peace officer immunity when acting in aid of civil authorities, enforcing controlled substance laws, or responding to terrorism threats or safeguarding vital resources when ordered by the governor.

Provides that militia members acting under governor's orders to assist with general welfare of Michigan citizens receive peace officer immunity while acting in the line of duty.

Requires the Michigan Attorney General to defend civil actions or criminal prosecutions brought against militia members or their estates arising from acts committed during authorized service.

Maintains existing protections allowing commanding officers to use reasonable judgment in apprehending suspects or dispersing mobs, with full civil and criminal protection for honest and reasonable decisions made in the line of duty.
