Urges the United States Coast Guard to operate a cutter ship out of Charlevoix to replace the USCGC Acacia, decommissioned in 2006.

Notes that the Acacia (built in 1944) provided essential navigation aid maintenance, search and rescue, and ice-breaking services for Lake Michigan until its decommissioning left no replacement vessel in Charlevoix.

Emphasizes that Charlevoix has hosted a Coast Guard nautical rescue station since 1889 and that loss of cutter services threatens public safety, transportation efficiency, and the local economy.

Directs copies of the resolution to be sent to the United States Coast Guard 9th District Headquarters in Cleveland, the Secretary of the Department of Transportation, the Coast Guard Commandant, and Michigan's congressional delegation.
